Meat Goats For Sale

Who’s got your goat?

We do! Here at Showalters Country Meats LLC, we are surrounded by small farms. Some of these farms raise goats. In fact, we partner with these local farms to bring you farm fresh goats, processed to your specifications, right here in our butcher shop here in Casey County KY.

Meat Up with our Goat Deal

Thankfully, we have put together a convenient deal for you. Now you don’t need to track down the farmer, negotiate the price, book a harvest date, haul the goat, and figure out your processing cost. No, we do the heavy lifting for you. With our goat deal, we take care of all that hassle. After you place your goat order, you may then get on with spending your valuable time doing more important things. Relax, and wait for us to let you know that your goat has been processed & is ready for you to come pick up your meat.

Goat Pricing

Our whole goat price is $4.10 per lb. live weight – that includes the goat itself AND the processing cost.
For example:
100 lbs. live weight goat & custom processing for $410.00
75 lbs. live weight goat & custom processing for $307.50

It should be noted that a deposit of $100 is required at time of order. Meanwhile, bear in mind that the remaining balance will be due at pick up. It is true, orders and down payment may be done over the phone, or by coming to our butcher shop in person.

Processed to Your Specifications

Of course there are limitations, but we do our best to make the cuts from your goat that you want. Common cuts would include: Bone-in Goat-Chops, Leg of Goat Roasts, Goat Shoulder Roast, Goat Fore-Shank, Goat Hind Shank, Goat Neck-Roasts, Goat Ribs as half-rack, & Goat Stew Meat.

Our Most Popular way of Cutting up Goats

In fact, most of the goats we have sold so far have been cut up into Bone-in Hunks & Chunks for Jamaican Goat Soups. See the pictures of those Bone in Goat hunks & chunks below.

Vac Packed for Optimal Freshness

To ensure optimal freshness, we typically vac pack all of the cuts on a goat. However, we do not vacuum pack the goat burger. In the case of someone requesting some of their goat cuts to be ground into burger, the burger would be stuffed into round chubs.

Time Frame on Goat Orders

As you might expect, the time from order to pick up can vary greatly depending on supply and demand. Call today & place your order. Normally, we should be able to get you a ball park time frame based on current circumstances.

How to order a Goat

Simply give us a call & let us know you want to order a goat. Of coarse, you can pay the $100 deposit over the phone, as well as go over the meat cut instructions. Also, you may come to our butcher-shop and talk to us in person. (we usually have plenty of samples out, so bring your appetite)

How much Meat does a Goat make?

Without a doubt, there will be some variation between each and every goat. Factors that influence the yield can be the diet of the goat, the age of the goat, and most importantly, the cuts that are made from it. As you would expect, the more bone-in cuts that you get, the more weight you will end up taking home. Conversely, the opposite is also true that the more boneless cuts that you get, the more weight you will be leaving at our butcher shop. I think the best way to get a feel for what your goat might produce is to look at a few examples that we have tracked.

In March 2024 we tracked a 93 LB Live weight Goat. Following are the numbers:
