Finally A place I am satisfied with to get our familys beef!! The moment I walked in the door and was greeted with very friendly people and samples I knew I was in the right place! We purchased a whole beef and got everything we asked for and more. I would highly recommend them to anybody for whatever there needs are, You wont be disappointed! With what we got, I know our family of 6 will have plenty of beef for over a year easily! Thank you guys!!!

We ordered a half a beef on Dec 5, 2025 and placed a deposit. Expected delivery 4 weeks. After 8 weeks, nothing.when we called they indicated the order was never placed. Their mistake and it was going to be another 2 1/2 weeks. We requested a discount for our inconvenience and order not being processed per agreement. Their response was we should take our business elsewhere. Good advice taken. God bless

Karen, we are sorry for your disappointing experience with us. You ordered a special priced grass fed beef & we set the order aside to try to sell the other half to be as close as possible to the 1 month estimated wait time we projected when you placed the order. In the bustle of wrapping up from deer season we dropped the ball & the order was still waiting when you all called to check the status. We immediately tried to do what we could to get it processed ASAP for you... but you all wanted to cancel or asked for a 20% discount. Since we are a small business without big profit margins, it would have been hard to make that kind of discount work. So sorry about that 🙁 We felt we tried to work with you all as soon as we realized we had missed our estimated time frame. We wanted to do what we could to get back on track with you. But somehow I did not seem to be able to 🙁 So sorry about that. At that point it seemed the best we could do was refund your deposit & cancel the order. I processed your refund as soon as I could (Jan 19th 2026) & also put a gift card in the mail for you as a token of our apology for having disappointed you all so deeply by missing our estimated wait time on that side of beef. Again, we do apologize. Thank you for your patience with us. We do hope you will give us another try in the future. In the meantime we wish you God's blessing 🙂

This may be the first review I’ve ever left anywhere, but this place deserves it! Even if you don’t live close like me it is worth the drive. The team was super nice and service was top notch . The meats are on point and nice clean looking shop. Deserves no less than 5 stars

We have lived all over the country and utilized many butcher shops and nothing compares to the service, quality and pricing of Showalter Meats. We have bought many individual items and just recently placed our second order for a whole hog and half a grain fed cow.

The service is second to none, always offering samples, we often leave full..lol The staff is very honest and knowledegable always willing to help in any way.

The meat quality is top of the scale, out of all of the items we have consumed, we have not one complaint about anything. The meat far exceed expectations. Even our dog is a huge fan of the beef stick dog treats they make.

The pricing is more than fair, much better than anyother butcher shop we have dealt with.

We are a long term committed customer!!!

Sorry guy’s, but the wet cure you put in the package with the bacon, (the same as your ham), doesn’t work for me.
It taste like thin sliced ham, doesn’t taste like bacon, doesn’t smell like bacon and doesn’t fry like bacon.
I’m going to try and save mine by taking it out of the package, dry it a couple hours in my smoker then put some apple wood smoke to. it.

All the rest of the hog is good, but the next one I get will not have this kind of cure on the bacon.

For the rest of you all out there that may wonder about our bacon cure, I would suggest that you come by & pick up a pack to try out & make sure it is to your liking. We sure dont want to be making bacon that folks dont enjoy:) Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.

Whole pasture raised hog processed to your specifications-what's to complain about. Super clean processing facility and great staff!  All vacuum packed with sausage and ground pork chub packed. I do prefer lots of bone in cuts but my 317 lb. hog on the hoof paid back 213 lbs.

Can't recommend Showalter's highly enough. Extended family is ready to reorder! Bonus is the drive into rural Windsor, KY. Great samples so you wind up purchasing what you like. We feel blessed and impressed we found Showalter's!

As soon as we walked in we could tell how much love and passion they put into their work! Phenomenal staff and beautiful store. Ordered a half of a cow and could tell just by looking at the packaging they know and love what they do. They are truly blessed, and I am blessed to have found them! First time using Showalter's. I was thoroughly impressed with their facility, employees, process and of course the quality packaging for deer processing. Hands down the best processor in KY, in my opinion. I will certainly use them from now on for my deer processing. There standard meat selection is also for purchase is also very impressive! The quality is top notch!

We have been a customer for a couple of months now and we are beyond satisfied. The fresh meat has made such a difference in how we treat our bodies. The meat thaws differently, cooks and smells differently, the taste is fantastic. Once you start buying and cooking Showwalters meats you will refuse to buy from big box stores. They are the friendliest, kindest people we have ever met. Another thing is they are always cooking up samples and feed you plenty. If you leave hungry it’s your own fault because they even bring food to you while you are shopping. Overall this company and all its people are life changing. Give them a try you will not regret it. We recently bought half of a grass fed Angus cow. The entire process was a pleasure. They met their estimated pick up date, they texted along the way to keep us in the loop, and helped us load up when it was ready. I am not exaggerating when I say this is the best beef I've ever eaten... just incredible!!!
